McDonald land

Also known as M.C. Kids (NES). This amiga platform scrolling screen jump 'n' run game. Was released for the commodore amiga in 1993, by Ocean in europe and by Virgin Interactive in north america. All rights reserved  McDonalds Corporation.

The control is very loose. This makes it difficult to control Mick and Mack, threw out the 31 levels and numerous bonus games. However this is also the only obstacle in the game. All levels is fairly easy and can be completed with little or no trouble.

THE STORY
One sunny day Ronald McDonald was performing magic tricks
at a picnic in the meadow when all of a sudden... the
hamburglar appeared and ran off with Ronald’s Magic Bag!
Luckily, Ronald´s has many friends, among them Mick and
Mack, the M.C. Kids (that’s pronounced “EmCee” Kids, by
the way). He calls upon them to help find his Magic Bag. And
they will! Hoorah!

The Hamburglar is hiding in the one of the six lands of
McDonaldland. In their search for the Hamburglar and
Ronald’s Magic Bag, the M.C. Kids must collect Puzzle
cards and beware of the crazy creatures sent by the
hamburglar to protect his new-found interest. They must
hurry, before they are too late!

MEET MICK AND MACK TM!
Mick and Mack went to sleep and were magically
transformed into the M.C. Kids. Being Ronald’s TM friends, they
want to catch the Hamburglar TM as much as you do!

Mick’s best mate can’t wait to get his hands on Ronald´s magic bag.

Mack’s best mate loves having fun in McDonaldland.

THE SCENE IS SET
Once vou have decided how you will play McDonaldlond , the
sceen is set with a short animated story. You will see Mick and
Mack in their tent, reading about Ronald McDonald’s
adventures.

LET'S GO!
Bach land has a McDonaldland character associated with it. To
pass through one land to the next you must complete all the
levels in that land and return Puzzle Cards to its

McDonaldland character. When you first arrive in a new land,
Its McDonaldland character will tell you how many Puzzle
cards you need to collect before you can continue to the next
land. When you have read What the character has to say,
press the firebutton to continue.

THE MAP SCREEN
Mick and Mack move between levels in the land they are
currently exploring by means of maps. Push the joystick
shaft in the direction of the path to move the Mick or Mack
character to the nearest level entrance or crossroads. When
Mick or Mack is on top of a level entrance, press the
firebutton to enter the level.

Note that if a level has not been completed, you cannot walk past
its entrance. You can however return to a completed level or land
as often as you wish. You never know what secrets (or Puzzle
Cards even) you may have missed the first time around!

As the correct Puzzle Cards are collected they are turned over to
reveal the face of the land’s McDonaldland character.

THE BONUS LEVEL
When the M.C. Kids have collected 100 Golden Arches they
will be whisked away to a secret (and special) Bonus Level. At the
very bottom of the Bonus Level, you will see a Mick
Mack’er and a Zipper. More importantly, above this are four
Special Lifts. They will be active for a second, in which time only
one of them will go up. That’s the one you want! Be prepared to
jump onto another Special Lift going up if you want to reach the
top and earn l-Ups!

THROW
With an object in hand, the M.C. kid can throw it straight up or down or in the direction he´s facing. If Mick or Mack is running when he throws the object.
It will fly fasther than if he was standing still. The M.C. Kids can also throw dirt and snow in the same way.

DIG
There are times when the M.C. Kids need to dig through sand. Press the firebutton to make Mick or Mack dig in the direction he is facing.
To dig up or down, push the joystick shaft in the appropiate direction and the press the firebutton.

SWIM
If Mick or Mack should fall into water and find something nasty and vicious snapping at his heels, he has to move fast!
You will loos a Mick or Mack character if he falls of the bottom of the screen, so jump to stay afloat and try to get out of the water quick!

Special scenery

The following items can´t be picked up, but they do have their uses.

Zipper
With an M.C. Kid standing in front of one, press the firebutton to use it (open the zipper).

Reverser
Don´t touch these totten blocks for they send Mick or Mack spinning back to the beginning of a level.

Spinner
These are found at the end of some of the platforms in the sky.
Run across a spinner at full speed to play upside down!
The sky will become the ground and vica versa. To play the right way up again, run over the spinner at full speed.

Mick mack´er
Touch this to turn Mick into Mack and vice versa.

Leaves
They act as platforms. Some of them hang steady in the air, while others float to the ground - so use them quickly.

Springboard
When Mick or Mack jumps onto one of these, he is shot into the air.

Super springboard
A larger, more powerful version of the springboard.
The super springboard needs weight to activate it, so an M.C. Kid must be carring a block when he jumps on it.

Ice bridge
It´s slippery and not very strong. If Mick or Mack carries anything over this bridge or falls on to it, it will break.

Fire bridge
It looks fine - until an M.C. Kid steps on it. The fire will burn from left to right, so run across the bridge as fast as you can!

Falling bridge
Some of the blocks in this bridge will fall when Mick or Mack stands on them.

Bones
You won´t see them often, but if you do, don´s stand on one for too long or it will crumble and fall.

Continuous lift
It moves non-stop in a specific loop.

Conveyor lift
This is the most diffecult to master. A converyor lift will not move until Mick or Mack walks on it...
In the opposit direction you wish to go!

Clouds
They take Mick or Mack skywards where they will find hidden bonuses and other usefull items.

The finishing line
At the end of every level there´s a finishing line - a tightrope with a spinning golden arch moving back and forth along it.
For extra bonuses, to be used at the end of the quest, Mick or Mack must jump on the finishing line and land on the golden arch.
The farther to the right they land, the bigger the bonus.

When Mick or Mack jump far enough to the right and land on the spinning golden aarch, the will receive a magic block to be used in the final stage of their quest.
And remember only a true finishing line has the moving golden arch that spins!

APPENDIX ONE: THE SIX LANDS OF McDONALDLAND
Here´s a brief guide to the six lands of McDonaldland

Ronald´s clubhouse
Mick and Mack´s quest begins here. You need a good head for heights to reach the tops of the tall trees!

Birdie´s treehouse
Climb up through the clouds, across a frosty mountain, and through frozen vaverns and an icy maze. And beware of icicles!

Crimace´s highlands
This land is full of cliffs and lakes. Watch out for the huge waterfall.

Professor´s workshop
An enchanted forest and a ship are found where the sand lies all around. The professor will allow Mick or Mack to use his latest invention....
Provided they can find his puzzle cards!

Cosmc´s retreat
A lunar land full of caverns and tunnels. Beware! The moon´s gravitational pull isn´t as strong as it is on earth!

Hambuerglar´s hideout
Here is a land full of volvanoes with hot lava to cross. Don´t abuse the machines in the lava or they might stop working!
Ronald´s magic bag is alomst within your graps!

APPENDIX TWO: McDONALDLAND CREATURES
Meet the creatures found in the six lands of McDonaldland

Goforit
This crazy creature will keep you on your toes, for he follows an M.C. Kid wherever he goes.

Draggie
He moves slow and looks dim, but be quick to jump him.

Albert
He flaps and tries to fly away but only ends up in Mick or Mack´s way.

Hanging Harry
He hangs from trees so please be wise, or Harry will take you by surprise.

Fitch
It´s a harmless pretty flower, yes? Don´s you believe it - it causes distress.

Gnash
Be carful in the water where this fish swims, for a character´s lost if it touches his limbs.

Splinter
It´s best to leave alone this busy little beaver (groan).

Fineous
up in the clouds your eyes must be keen, for fineous fin is all that is seen.

Frogo
Goforit´s distant relative can withstand the cold, but not a well-placed super-shot, so be bold!

Shno-zer
He´s more dangerous than he´d appear.

Dee-thaw
Shno-zer´s close cousin jumps straight for an M.C. Kid, so when crossing the snow, be careful not to skid.

Jack rabbid
When you meet this funny bunny here, you will just wish he´d disappear.

Propbot
Watch out for the propeller of this tough little fella.

Mcmood
He doesn´t look much to fear, but when he charges, stand clear.

Gerg
He follows the M.C. Kids wherever they roam, even in the sand, his true home.

Pokums¨
These spikes are sharp, beware, so jump them all with care.

Nerb
Out from the volcano walls his tongue flies.

Krome-dome
His protective helmet will never stop, so hit him just right for a super-shot!

Leinad
He knows every move an M.C. Kid makes, his big eyes alert for any mistakes.

Whirlee
The precipitous cliffs are where whirlee´s found, so mind he doesn´t knock the M.C. Kids to the ground.

Fizzie
When crossing the water, watch out for thsi tricky fishy leaping about.

Nerrad
When an M.C. Kid crosses his bridge so pure, nerrad will be hot on his heels for sure.

Tye
When it is free from the magic bag, it takes more than one hit to make it sag.

Magic wand
Ronald´s magic is at work here, so hit this rod offen, it´s clear.
use the magic block´s that you can earn at the finishing line.

Try to carry a block with you at all times.
It´s possible to catch a block once it´s been thrown - try it!

When Mick or Mack is temporarily invulnerable after touching a creature, use the brief time wisely to pass tricky spors.

If you are having trouble finding puzzle cards in a land, try visiting its Mcdonaldland character for some helpful hints or clues.

Georg Glaxo

Made by SilverRock for the danish company formerly known as Glaxo Denmark a/s. Now called GlaxoSmithKline (gsk). After a merge with Wellcome in 1995. And a merger of Glaxo Wellcome and SmithKline Beecham in 1992.

Hi, my name is Geort. Do you like excitement?

BEFORE YOU START
Now you must listen carefully ...
In the game we have to complete four levels. They are called summer, autumn, winter and spring.
We are going through the whole year before the game ends.

I have asthma. It does not matter if just i take my regular medicine.
But everywhere we go, there is always someone who's bothering me.So the asthma breaks out - if I forget my regular medicine. When that happens, you must give me my medicine. Then nobody can touch us.

HELP SUPPLIES
In each level you can find different aids that we are going to need,in order to complate the level, Eg:
1-up
Better bullets
Extra ammunition
Bonus

THINGS THAT HELP YOU
Surfboard
Skateboard
Ski
Bicycle

For each level there are 1 auxiliary. For example when we get to the wather, we will use the surboard in the summer level. It can also be done without, but it is much slower.

If I "die" we will lose the auxiliary.

When you need to give Georg medicine, you choose the medicine screen by pushing "space".
Here you can choose between the three different kinds of medicine that he must take every day:

The orange is called Flixotide.
The green is called Serevent.

Georg's asthma means that he must take these two every mornings and evenings.
The blue, called Ventoline, is for emergencies only.

When you go to the medicine screen. You should also keep an eye on the peak flow to the right. Georg is best in the green area.

REMEMBER THE CLOCK
On your screen you can see some different symbols. They works like a clock and shows what time of day it is:

Rooster - morningb (7-8)
Sun - day
Owl - evening (18-19)
Moon - night

Important: morning and evening Georg must take his medicine.

REMEMBER
If you forget to give Georg the medicine or give him too much, he will get ill
and his movements will slow down. If his energy comes down to half, he begins
to move slower and cough. Then you must give Georg his blue Ventoline.

In the scoreboard you can see how Georg is doing. It shows a picture of his trachea.
The more the trachea narrows, the worse his health is.

Are you ready?

Cool spot

Developed and published by Virgin Games in 1993. This is the second promotional game from 7 up. Aka Dr. Pepper Snapple Group in the US, and PepsiCo in the rest of the world. In the European release. The 7-Up bottle label, was removed from the intro. In order to avoid associating the 7 Up Spot with the official  europe 7 up mascot Fido Dido. Cool Spot is a single-player platform game, featuring the 7 Up mascot Spot as the main character.

A TOTALLY BOGUS TRIP!
Cool Spot's Cool Chums (all called Spot) have been kidnapped and locked in cages. No-one knows
who did the dirty deed. but one thing is for sure: Cool Spot's Spot Shots aren't powerful enough to
bust open the locks on the cages. What he needs is Cool Shots. and the only way to get those is to
take a walk on the wild side and collect enough Cool Points.

Help Cool Spot watch out for Uncool Characters (a Spot Shot or two should take care of them) and
collect the Cool Counters for Cool Points. But can you pick up enough Cool Points to qualify for
the fizzin‘ Bonus Game?

HERO WANTED!
It was a piece of paper which caught Cool Spot's eye and alerted him to the situation. You are
shown that piece of paper below you get to tackle Level One for the first time.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO SEE DURlNG PLAY
Before Cool Spot's quest begins you are shown the number of Cool Points you need to collect to give
Cool Spot the power of Cool Shots.

The number of Cool Points you need to collect (30. 60 or 90) de-
pends on the ‘DlFFTCULTY' setting (EASY, NORMAL or DIFFlCULT). You will qualify for the Bonus Game if you collect 75. 85 or 99 Cool Points. depending on the ‘DIFFICULTY' setting.

All the action happens in the Playlield which takes up the best part of the screen. The Status Panel at the top of the screen shows everything you need to know about the state of play.

COOL BONUS SCREEN
So you did it. you completed a level - cool. When the celebrations are over. you will be given a Time
Bonus for any time remaining and a Cool Bonus for the number of Cool Points collected during the
level.

Look. there's Cool Spot. hanging around on a Balloon. The Balloon rises as the Bonus points are
awarded. The more Bonus points you earned. the higher the Balloon rlses. lf the Balloon carries Cool
Spot all the way up to the 1-UP token. he collects it and you get an extra Cool Spot character to play with.

LEVELS OF COOL
Cool Spot’s quest takes him through 11 increasingly testing levels. A signpost is shown before
each level. Note that some Uncool Chatacters are tougher than othets and it can take more than a
single Spot Shot to remove them from play.

BONUS GAME
This takes place in a bottle of fizzy pop full of Cool Counters and Bouncy and Blobby Bubbles. Use
the Bubbles to help Cool Spot collect the Cool Counters but more importantly to reach the top of the
bottle where you will find a Cool Letter from the word ‘VIRGIN'. Get that Cool Letter - and be sharp
about it! (There's a time limit.)

THE BONUS GAME
When the Bonus Game is over. Cool Spot will receive a Cool Bonus for the number of Cool Points acquired. He will then store the Cool Letter (if you found it). If you have a Cool Letter and lose all your Cool Spot characlers you don´t start from the first level - instead you will continue from the level on which you lost your last Cool Spot character. Note Thal your score is reset to zero.

Beware! Some Bonus Games feature bombs.

COOL PLAYING ADVICE
Cool Spot can throw his Spot Shots in almost any direction. Rotote the joystick in a clockwise or
counterclockwise direction and keep pressing the firebutton as quickly as possible. And remember: practice makes perfect.

Spot Shots ricochet off a Hermit Crab's shell and they might perhaps be deflected to hit a Dragon-
fly. Small jumps are usually useful for jumping from one rope to another. but they are invaluable when it comes to throwing Spot Shots into an Oyster’s open shell.

In the Bonus Game. try to jump through Bouncy Bubbles from below as Cool Spot will fly a little bit
higher, And if Cool Spot jumps out of a Blobby Bubble into a Bouncy Bubble above he will fly way high. Cool Spot cannot walk through most walls. but he can throw Spot Shots through them. Take advantage of this to take out Uncool Characters on the other side.

If you want to get high scores. collect everything. shoot everything and pay no attention to the time.
Don't stand on the tiny tilting toy UFOs for too long - Cool Spot will get tipped off.
